There are so many things I like about this photo. let me elaborate on this.The first is the composition. The way the two meerkats are looking into the distance and the way one has its hands around the shoulders of the other makes it touching, almost human. This human like behaviour between the two meerkats is the essence of the photo. The fact that the viewer can only see till the shoulder puts the focus more on the face and the way one meerkat has its hands around the other.
As for the technique, I like how clear and sharp the photo is. The viewer can see each and every hair. The fact that this photo is in black and white adds a contemplative mood to it.
